In the very early morning hours of April 6th, 2008 The Arctic Expedition struck a deal with the Jose Reyes Spanish Academy. Alex Rios, originally acquired for Russell Martin, was moved in an 8 player deal. Alex Rios, Dan Johnson, Jason Schmidt, and Gustavo Chacin were moved for Rick Porcello, Jordan Walden, Austin Kearns, and Miguel Batista. I am VERY high on Porcello as an elite major league talent in waiting. I truly feel great about the players the arctic got back in return for the stud outfielder in Toronto. I meant to announce this earlier, but just didn’t do it. After getting going 0-3 the first week, the arctic has rebounded to go 2-1 in our second week, and we are looking good to go 2-1 again in our 3rd week. With a wealth of young talent now flowing in the minors, the future for this franchise has never been brighter. In the mean time, keep your faith in Markakis, Longoria (called up last week), Upton, Lincecum, and John Maine. ARCTIC 4 LIFE!
